Product description
A rotary dryer consists of a slightly inclined cylindrical drum that turns slowly on its supports. Lifting flights fixed inside the drum pick up the salt and let it fall through the stream of hot air, so the crystals are repeatedly exposed to the heat as they move from the inlet to the outlet.
When the salt and the hot air travel in the same direction, the wettest salt meets the hottest air at the inlet, which quickly evaporates surface moisture. Rotary dryers are robust and tolerate variations in feed moisture and grain size, which makes them a common choice for drying washed raw salt and industrial salt. They work with an air heater and a fan or blower, with the exhaust air usually cleaned in a dust collector.
